Santa Claus The original name is Nicholas, in the fourth century, was born in Asia Minor city of Pakistan big pull, the family wealth, parents are enthusiastic Catholics, unfortunately, his parents died young. 圣誕老人原來的名字叫做尼古拉，在第四世紀(jì)的時候，出生在小亞細(xì)亞巴大拉城，家庭富有，父母親是非常熱心的天主教友，不幸他的父母早逝。尼古拉長大以后，便把豐富的財(cái)產(chǎn)，全部捐送給貧苦可憐的人，自己則出家修道，獻(xiàn)身教會，終生為社會服務(wù)。尼古拉后來作了神父，而且還升為主教。他一生當(dāng)中，做了很多慈善的工作，他最喜歡在暗中幫助窮人，圣誕老人是他后來的別號，這個名字是出自他暗中送錢，幫助三個女孩子的故事。
The Origin of Christmas
Dec 25 is the day that most Christianities celebrate the birth of Jesus.
There was no Christmas at first. It is said that the first Christmas was in 138, the first in record was in 336. But the bible doesn’t indicate on what day was Jesus born, so different Christmas days were celebrated in different places. Until 440, Roman church court fixed Dec 25 as the Christmas day.
In 1607, religious leaders all over the world met in Bethlehem and reached an agreement that Dec 25 would be the Christmas day. Since then, most Christians began to celebrate Dec 25, no matter where they are.
From the 19th century, with the popularizing of Christmas and Santa Claus, most people, no matter they believe in Christian or not began to celebrate Christmas.In the bible, Jesus was born at night, so the night of Dec 24 is known as the Christmas night.
圣誕節(jié)的由來
“圣誕節(jié)”這個名稱是“基督彌撒”的縮寫。彌撒是教會的一種禮拜儀式。耶誕節(jié)是一個宗節(jié)我們把它當(dāng)作耶蘇的誕辰來慶祝，因而又名耶誕節(jié)。這一天，世界所有的基督教會都舉行特別的禮拜儀式。但是有很多圣誕節(jié)的歡慶活動和宗教并無半點(diǎn)關(guān)聯(lián)。交換禮物，寄圣誕卡，這都使圣誕節(jié)成為一個普天同慶的日子。
圣誕節(jié)是基督教世界最大的節(jié)日。4世紀(jì)初，1月6日是羅馬帝國東部各教會紀(jì)念那穌降生和受洗的雙重節(jié)日、稱為“主顯節(jié)”Epiphany，亦稱“顯現(xiàn)節(jié)”即上帝通過那穌向世人顯示自己。當(dāng)時只有那路拉冷的教會例外，那里只紀(jì)念耶穌的誕生而不紀(jì)念那穌的受洗。后來歷史學(xué)家們在羅馬基督徒習(xí)用的日歷中發(fā)現(xiàn)公元354年12月25日頁內(nèi)記錄著：“基督降生在猶大的伯利恒�！苯�(jīng)過研究，一般認(rèn)為12月25日伴為圣誕節(jié)可能開始于公元336年的羅馬教會)約在公元375年傳到小亞細(xì)亞的安提阿，公元430年傳到埃及的亞歷山大里亞，那路撒冷的教會接受得最晚，而亞美尼亞的教會則仍然堅(jiān)持1月6日主顯節(jié)是那穌的誕辰。
